Harare Harare is the capital of Zimbabwe and the largest city in the country. Situated in the north-west on the central watershed, Harare is the seat of government and the administrative centre for three Mashonaland provinces. It is a focal point of road, rail and air services. The city’s attractions and its outlying areas have much to offer, including the Ewanrigg Botanical Garden, the Kuimba Shiri Bird Garden, the Lion and Cheetah Park, the Snake Park and many shopping centres. There are also many rock art sites in the area, including Domboshawa. Due to the almost unparalleled climate, outdoor sports are a main feature of community life. You can enjoy world-class championship golf courses and can visit a diversity of rich attractions. There’s the National Art Gallery, the Queen Victoria Museum and the National Archives. Travel and shopping are synonymous and you’ll have the option to purchase local cultural pieces that include handcrafted carvings, weaving and crochet work as exquisite curios. Of course, dining out is essential with all of the excitement of Harare’s wonderful array of hotels and restaurants. The biggest part of the City is its people. Notice their smiles as they notice yours on the start of your African adventure. |
