Leave the city for the magnificent Matopo Hills. Walk up the hill “Malindi Dzimu”, a place of the benevolent spirits, renamed by Cecil John Rhodes as the “View of the World” and the site where he chose to be buried. The vantage point provides a dramatic view over the surrounding sea of granite formations and hills. Visit the caves in the area to see some of the most striking examples of ancient rock paintings in Africa.
